I sat at the bar in Longmont’s Dickens Opera Hall, waiting for my order and pondering what grandeur and flair the establishment might have had in its heyday. Staring at the liquor bottles on a shelf that behind the bar, Edouard Manet’s "Le Bar Aux Folies-Bergère" from 1882 sprung to mind.
